Vano Besolov — a relative of Renat Besolov, general of the Turkish army and deputy Navy minister of Turkey
A colonel of artillery in the Russian army who emigrated to Turkey and rose to general of the Turkish army and deputy minister of the Navy of Turkey — one of the most striking names of the Besolov family.
Colonel, general, deputy Navy minister
Vano Tsappoevich Besolov came from the Ossetian Besolov (Besoltæ) family of the Alagir Gorge. He served in the Imperial Russian Army and rose to colonel of artillery.
He later emigrated to Turkey. According to the Ossetian family encyclopedia, during the Russo-Turkish war he was a general of the Turkish army, and then took the post of deputy minister of the Navy of Turkey.
The Turkish branch of the Besolov family can also be traced in the family tree: from Brakh Besolov — one of the most famous residents of the Alagir Gorge, who built several ancestral towers in the 18th century — part of the family moved to Turkey.
The shared Besolov lineage
Vano Besolov and Renat Besolov belong to the same Ossetian Besoltæ family (kinship by surname). The exact generational line from Vano to Renat is being verified; the shared lineage is based on family records.
